Garrett County Declares State of Emergency in Response to COVID-19
The mission of the Property Owners' Association of Deep Creek Lake, Inc. is to advocate on behalf of the property owners of the Deep Creek Lake area. To accomplish this we strive to promote, preserve and protect the quality of life, environment, recreational opportunities, historic sites and historic areas on Deep Creek Lake and in its watershed, Garrett County, Maryland.
Unlike many home owners' associations, a membership in the Property Owners' Association of Deep Creek Lake, Inc. (POA) is not a requirement for home ownership in the lake area. Since membership is an option, the natural question about joining is “What is the POA and what does it do for lake property owners?” Our website is intended to highlight the value of the POA and to encourage continued commitment to the benefits provided by the organization.
The Board holds several regularly scheduled meetings each year including General Membership Meetings in June and August. The 2019-2020 meeting schedule can be found here.
Sneak Preview of DNR's Tow Like a Pro Brochure:
Click here to see DNR's SAFE TOWING -TOW LIKE A PRO BROCHURE created jointly by the POA and DNR. It contains rules, safety tips, and a map showing restricted areas on Deep Creek for towing water sports. A copy will be mailed to all dock holders with their permit bill in 2019. Copies will also be placed around the lake in various businesses in the Spring. POA wishes to thank the DNR for their help in preparing and printing this information to help make this type of recreation more enjoyable and safer at DCL.
